Women who choose to bottle-feed their baby are made to feel like second-rate parents by campaigns stating "breast is best", researchers have said.
A study found that one in 10 mothers felt a sense of failure, guilt and uncertainty about not breastfeeding after intending to breastfeed but their plans not working out.
Many women also worry about what their health visitor or midwife might say to them, as well as being concerned about how formula milk will affect their baby's health.

Yes, the study was in fact funded by a group of United Kingdom artificial baby milk manufacturers.
I chose to blog this article because I think it's useful for those who work with mothers to understand the pressure that mums face, and how it benefits the ABM industry to keep those mothers misinformed. This is what we're up against, and we have to know about it in order to confront it.
I found this quote from the article particularly disturbing -"Dr Ellie Lee said those who offer advice to women about feeding their babies have the responsibility to give them factual information," because of the way Dr. Lee twists the truth. These ABM feeding mothers *are* being given factual information!
